popcorn on a string
glitter ornaments
you can do santa clause with their hand in white paint as the beard. and draw the rest. o or they could make snow man out of glue and cotton balls and different color pipe cleaners for the arms and nose. and thread for the scarf and paper cut out hat. you know a square for the top of it and a rectangle for the bottom piece of the hat as well as paper for the buttons. my moms an art teacher for elementary school kids. she does those kind of things all the time. anther would be to cut out a wreath ( O ) like an o and make it hollow and have them glue beans around it making a pattern. she uses card board for the wreath and black beans white beans brown beans any or all of those work well and its cheap. next you can tie a bow with ribbon and glue that on and its finished. makes a wonderful gift for their parents or decoration for christmas. i still have mine from when i was a kid and its been 15 years at least since i made mine!
you can make reindeer out of clothespins. glue two clothes pins together pointed down (the ones WITHOUT the springs) and then glue one upside down as the head. Glue googly eyes and a red popm pom nose and you're done!
Also, you can make candy cane reindeer. get brown pipe cleaners and twist them around the crook of the candy cane so they stick up like antlers. Then glue small googly eyes and red pom pom nose.
christmas cards
decorate a orniment/paint
get some wooden Christmas ornaments that come out in November at craft stores, and paint. spread out newspaper over an entire table, set out trays of paint, put old clothes on the kids, and let them go wild finger painting the ornaments…don't forget to date the back!
making reindeer antlers is so easy.
take a strip of color papers (any color it doesn't matter) and fit it around the child's head, staple it at the right size. help the child trace out their hand prints on brown or white construction paper, if it was whit then they can color it brown, help them staple or tape the antlers on, and they're reindeer!
why don't you try making like a book…
so they can draw the picture and you write or something
OR you could make Christmas puppets, and then have a puppet show
Christmas cards. All you need is some construction paper, glitter, glue.or a cookbook.all you need is some ribbon, paper and staples.Have each child write out their favorite dinner food and a dessert. It is hilarious what they actually think and how its cooked.!A very fun craft.

Easy and cheap Christmas ornaments and crafts?
I know it is a bit early but I was wondering if anyone can tell me what Christmas ornaments are cheap and easy to make? I found online how to make a little snowman out of a sock, just wanted to see what else I could make. Thanks!
I made some beautiful garlands last year out of scrapbooking paper. you need a sewing machine.
I used a large circle punch and cut circles out a whole bunch of different papers. I then ran them through the sewing machine one at a time, edge to edge, making a nifty, twirly garland. it got a lot of compliments.
You could also do dozens of paper snowflakes. my mother got the idea from the movie Elf, where he decorates the room in white paper and it looks just beautiful. She has done it for the last three Christmases and I really want to do it next year. Just remember not to turn on any ceiling fans.

Plastic canvas ornaments are nice and not too expensive. you just need time, yarn, and plastic canvas. another idea for a xmas craft ornament is to take small puzzle pieces and glue them onto a cardboard circle in about 3 layers (similar to a donut with the whole), then spray the puzzle pieces with green paint and let dry. Put small dots on them with red paint and a dull toothpick, attach loop for hanging and you are done. (I use a circle cutter and file folders for the cardboard.)
Anyone have any simple Christmas craft ideas using food?
The children are 5 & 6 years old. Decorating cookies? Sandwiches? We do not have enough time for gingerbread houses. thank you.
I have a great one. Make sugar cookie dough and roll it into thin ropes. Shape the ropes into different shapes. put wax paper on a cookie sheet and put the shapes on there. Smash up some different colored suckers in different bags and pour the different colors inside the cookie shapes. Bake them in the oven like you would a regular cookie. when they are done they will be like stained glass windows only edible. You can buy the cookie dough premade at the store to speed up the process.
Its nice to hear a parent that still wants to spend time with their children.
u take apple sauce and cinimin and mix it togetehr until u have a spicy dough, then u roll it out with a roller and use the gingerbread man cookie cutter to cut out shapes. then u poke a hole in the gingerbread mans head with a pencil. u let them dry and when they are hard, you string ribben through their heads and tie it in a knot. then u can paint them if you want. a sweet spicy smellign christmas tree ornament

Kids Crafts? – Yahoo! Answers
Anyone know any good crafts for kids 6-10 that arent very expensive? I like to do crafts with the little ones i babysit we have already done : soap, picture frames, and cookies. Supplies isn't a big deal and if It could a christmas present for mom and dad that'd be fine too or a holiday craft..
I've done watercolors and taught the kids I babysit how to make simple balloon animals. they really loved that, and it was inexpensive and easy. even if you don't know how to make them, it will take you literally 10 minutes to learn how to make about 3 animals. Start with teaching them how to make a dog. they loved it how they could make it themselves and were really proud of it. It's not really holiday, but I hope that it helps.
painting or drawing r even building or clay or playdough
I bought a piece of Garland from K-Mart 9.99. then cut all the wired greenery off with wire cutters. Have the kids bend into a circle and twist the wire to form a wreath. then I took small ribbon and wrapped around the wreath, glued little "ornaments" on them and afterward – I hot glued a piece of magnet to the back. these work GREAT for fridge magnets, ornamentation on a gift package – or even on a bottle of wine! The kids loved making them too.
Good ideas on this site http://www.RobertsCritterCreators.com
Here is a variety of sites with lots of free projects. Many are designed for kids.
I am sure there are more, but thses look like they have a great selection.
Does anyone know any christmas craft ideas that is easy and fun and will look cute to decorate your house???
Hi, you could make Fabric Wall Art like mine. All you need to do is buy the Christmas Fabric of your choice then turn it into wall art. They can be taken down after Christmas and stored until the next year. See mine at http://www.kimtdesigns.com
My mom makes mice out of a plant called Teasle
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teasle
She cuts off the flower head and trims off all but one of the long woody pieces at the base (the one remaining makes the tail) then glues on two beads for eyes, and just behind the eyes, she glues two individual "petals" from a pine cone to make ears. Since the teasle are spiky, they'll stick to the tree without a hanger, or to a wreath. They're really cute!
Easy Christmas crafts to make.?
For fundraising. GirlGuides/Pathfinders.
Thanks for all your help!!!!!
:):)
wreaths are very easy to make.
Christmas orienments or fire starts (pinecones with red or green wax on the bottom with a wick). very quick and cheap to make : )
Cards are easy and inexpensive to make. You can use images from old cards, buttons, ribbons, broken jewelry parts, material, just about anything you can find around the house. The cards sell well, too, because the girls made them.
There are lots of great ideas, but don't limit yourself to exclusively Christmas items. Soaps, bath salts, and ornaments are always a hit at sales. Family Fun magazine has lots of simple yet cute ideas on their website that are appropriate for the younger set.
Good luck!
Pompoms made using sparkly wool are great to hang on the tree!
I recently bought some pretty gift tags at a local craft fair that had been made just by cutting out sections of old Christmas cards, punching a little hole at the top and threading with sparkly yarn.
When I was a child we used to collect little logs, holly leaves, mosses, dried grasses, berries, seeds etc etc and using adhesive and gold and silver paints would create Christmas table centrepieces. The only materials, apart from the adhesive and paints, that we used that weren't free were scraps of sparkly ribbons and cotton wool for snow.
Messy but fun! Only thing is, of course, you would need to ensure that those who are to collect the materials understand about the toxicity of e.g. berries plus the use of paints and adhesives would have to be supervised.
